In 2019 I established the Lord-Lieutenant’s Entrepreneurs Challenge the final of which is held every year at The Herts County Show in May-a wonderful 2-day event showing what is best in the county attracting over 35,000 visitors. Entrepreneur finalists are each given a stand for free at the Show, where they can showcase and promote their products and services to the Hertfordshire public.
On the second morning a “Dragons Den” type event takes place at which the finalists have 3 minutes to describe their business and appeal to the panel of experienced business judges and the public which includes an entertaining yet thorough questioning by renown BBC commentator Stuart Storey DL. The judges deliberate and a winner and highly commended are selected. The prizes are significant especially for a small and young business-including free accountancy, legal advice, marketing, advertising both radio and press/social media, banking and many other free services from local companies and media often for a two-year period. The value of the first prize is estimated to be worth at least £20,000.
Now is the time to consider entering as a new, start-up or established business.
Entrepreneurs should not miss out on this great opportunity to get their business up the ladder of success being able to showcase their products and services to large numbers of local public and have the opportunity to win this prestigious and valuable award.
