The Hertfordshire County Show is an event held in order to raise funds for the Hertfordshire Agricultural Society, a registered charity (charity number 291037), which promotes and showcases local farming, agriculture, and related skills, crafts, trades, and professions. The funds raised from this event are vital in helping to support Hertfordshire Agricultural Society’s charitable activities throughout the year.

Statement on Ford 2600 Tractor World Record Event

Following discussion with those organising the event it has been decided to cancel the Ford 2600 event due to be held at the Herts County Showground over the August bank holiday weekend.

A spokesperson said “We know this will be a disappointment to those who have already purchased tickets, offered to display tractors or volunteer during the weekend. However, given the lack of ticket revenue and the low uptake amongst exhibitors we decided to make an early decision to cancel the event.
“As a charity we have a responsibility to carefully manage our resources, and it would have been irresponsible to continue to commit charity funds to an event with little prospect of achieving a return on our investment.

Whilst this is not the outcome we hoped for, we remain committed to celebrating agriculture, rural life and our farming heritage through the Society’s others events such as our incredible successful schools food and farming day this week.

Anyone who purchased tickets for this event will receive a full refund. Ticket holders will be contacted directly to help process their refund. In the meantime, any queries should be directed to the Showground office via admin@hertsshow.com.
