The Herts County Show 2026 has celebrated a landmark year, with record-breaking entries across its livestock competitions and strong visitor turnout despite soaring summer temperatures.
This year’s show saw a record-breaking number of entries in the cattle, sheep and equine classes, attracting exhibitors from across the county and beyond. The surge in participation highlights the continued strength and enthusiasm within the agricultural community, as well as the show’s growing reputation for excellence.
Visitors enjoyed a vibrant and bustling showground, with a wide range of trade stands offering everything from artisan food and drink to shopping and rural crafts. Despite the hot weather, crowds remained high throughout the event, with many taking the opportunity to explore the diverse attractions on offer.
The Main Ring proved a major highlight across both days, drawing large audiences for a packed programme of entertainment. Spectators gathered to watch the impressive heavy horse parade, alongside popular appearances from the hounds, the ever-entertaining fox-trotting forklifts, JPL pony racing and the crowd-favourite Hertfordshire Zoo mascot race, as well as the thrilling ATV stunt show, all of which contributed to a lively and engaging atmosphere.
The livestock competitions remained at the heart of the show, with visitors treated to an outstanding display of high-quality cattle, sheep and equine entries. Judges praised the exceptional standard, noting that the level of competition was particularly strong this year.
