This year’s Hertfordshire County Show sees an updated schedule with a number of exciting changes, particularly within the jumping classes held in the Tarmac Arena. This superbly maintained grass arena is regularly top‑dressed with Tarmac Equisand, ensuring excellent going and provides ideal conditions for jumping.
One of the most significant changes to this year’s timetable is the decision to condense all Showjumping classes into a single day. This was not an easy decision; however, it is essential to ensure the future viability of the Show, especially as participation in showjumping on grass continues to decline. Despite this, the Tarmac Arena still provides a fantastic opportunity for spectators to watch top showjumpers up close and truly appreciate the height and technicality of the fences. The showjumping programme includes both a Horse of the Year Show Grade C Qualifying Class and the Area Trial.
As a result of this change, we are delighted to relocate all Working Hunter classes to the Tarmac Arena on the Sunday. This move allows competitors and spectators alike to enjoy these popular classes in a prestigious setting. We are also very pleased to welcome Lisa Kelly as our Course Builder for 2026.
The Working Hunter schedule boasts a full set of London International Horse Show qualifiers, ranging from the BSPS Lead Rein Heritage Working Sports Pony through to the BSHA Rising Star Working Hunter, offering a superb pathway for combinations across all levels.
Both days promise a vibrant atmosphere and high‑quality competition, and we very much hope you will join us to support the Hertfordshire County Show.
